What Hazelnut collects

Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs. Your data never touches the internet — the only networking Hazelnut does with it is short-range radio to a phone you have paired yourself.

Where your data lives

Everything you log — feedings, sleep, diapers, photos, your child’s profile — is stored in a database on your device. It is never transmitted to the developer or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes the data.

Backups and exports

Export Backup creates a compressed snapshot on your device that you control completely — where you save or send it is up to you (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop). Automatic backups, if you turn them on, are written to a folder on the same device and never leave it. Hazelnut never uploads a backup anywhere itself.

Device-to-device sync

Hazelnut can optionally sync between paired phones directly, peer-to-peer, using Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi Aware — short-range radio between devices that are near each other. Data travels only between your own devices: no server, no account, and nothing passes through the internet. Sync is off unless you turn it on, it only reaches phones you have explicitly paired, and you decide per phone which categories and how much history that phone receives.

Purchases

Hazelnut Full is bought through Apple’s App Store. Showing the price, buying, and restoring a purchase are the only times the app goes online, and those requests go to Apple, not to us. Apple handles the payment; we never receive your name, email, or payment details, and nothing you have logged is sent with the request. Once unlocked, Hazelnut works fully offline.

This website

Sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third parties. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may keep standard server access logs to operate the service; we don’t add anything on top.
